Yoga for Health

prevention courses, subsidized by your health insurance

What is a Prevention Course?

Admittedly, in English this sounds a little weird. The German “Präventionskurse” is not much better, though. But what are they? Prevention courses are closed courses giving you the opportunity to lay the foundations of an independent yoga practice. They take place over a few weeks and in a small groups. The course fees are subsidized by the German health insurances; conditional on your regular participation and the teacher’s certification with the “zentrale Prüfstelle für Prävention” (ZPP). For more information check the website of your health insurance.

With my certified courses, I aim to teach a sustainable, health-promoting yoga practice. We consciously practice the alternation of tension and relaxation and experience the connection between breath and movement. We discuss important alignment principles and combine basic asanas into meditative and creative movement sequences to create a relaxing and powerful, yet mindful, Hatha Yoga Flow.

Hatha Yoga I

Are you wondering what a sun salutation is or whether you are practicing it correctly? And how so many pushups, twists and backbends can actually be healthy? — Find out and lay the foundation for an independent yoga practice that is fun and helps you maintain your health!

The course “Hatha Yoga I” is designed as an introductory course. In a small group you will learn the basics of traditional Hatha Yoga or be given the opportunity to refresh your knowledge. Together we work towards different sun salutations, which you will eventually practice on your own.

Every class has a different focus, e.g. practicing certain asana, pranayama (breathing techniques), relaxation or meditation. We playfully practice important alignment principles and key actions and apply them in asana. We explore the interplay of breath and movement, tension and relaxation. The units build on one another to form the basis for your future yoga practice.
